At the United Church of Ovid we feel called to make and encourage followers of Jesus Christ.
One of our unique aspects is that we are have two denominational affiliations. We are United Methodist and United Church of Christ. This situation arose during World War II when First Congregational Church (est. 1871) and Grace Methodist Episcopal Church (est. 1860) merged due to pastors being called into the military.
This history makes us uniquely open to people of a variety of Christians traditions and beliefs. Our ability to maintain our connection with both denominations for 60 years clearly demonstrates our commitment to making that diversity of opinions work. |
