The United Church of Ovid has been heavily involved in the community with the Ovid Christmas Basket Program. Last year we served fewer families but we were able to be of greater assistance with those we served. Many of our families shopped for other families to provide clothing needs.

Sharing our Fruits around the world:

In February we ran a campaign for the “Nothing but Nets” program to buy nets for African countries. United Women matched the amount the church raised and we sent enough for 60 nets.

Sharing our Fruits around the world and locally:

• Our Ovid-Elsie CropWalk raised $8,851.00 for needs around the world and right here at home.
• Our “Count Your Blessings” offerings have supported RAVE, One Great Hour of Sharing, World Communion, Our Personal Pantry, Elsie Food Bank, Emergency Fund, Ministry Shares, Christmas Baskets, and our Vacation Bible School.
• VBS collected food for the Elsie Food Bank and also money for the Personal Pantry here at church.
• United Women continues with fund raisers to contribute to needs both here and all over the world. We continue to serve the community with funeral dinners.
• Individually, members continue to respond for Meals on Wheels, nursing home visitations and volunteering rides for medical needs.

Sharing our Fruits that are God given, of time, talents, money, and love to our community and around the world are what God requires of us.
